Happy Hunting Audition Notice
Opening Doors Theatre is casting for Happy Hunting, part of the acclaimed Closing Notice series
bringing underappreciated musicals back to life in NYC. Book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse,
lyrics by Matt Dubey, and music by Harold Karr.
Director: Suzanne Adams; Musical Dir. Ted Kociolek; Choreographer: Christine Schwalenberg.
Production dates: Nov 8, 9 10, 11 @ 7pm & Nov 12 @ 4pm at The Duplex.
Rehearses weekday evenings and Sunday days. First rehearsal Sunday, October 9.
Seeking dynamic singers/actors who move well. All roles open.
Liz Livingstone, 30’s to 40’s. Spunky Philadelphia 1950's hostess with an acerbic wit and a hidden soft side. She's a real "broad". Comedic actress with belt.
The Duke of Granada, 30’s to 40’s. Next in line to “the crown”, has a large bravado and bluster, but can be a romantic. (Think Adolpho, but more genuine.) Baritone.
Beth Livingstone, 20’s to 30s. Sweet exterior, with a vibrant, spunky soul – like her mother. Quirky ingénue.
Sanford (Sandy) Stewart, 20’s to 30s. Uptight, but charming lawyer who falls in love with Beth. Bari/Tenor.
Arturo, 20’s to 40s. The Duke’s wimpy, loyal assistant. Tenor.
Maud, 30s-40s. Liz’s (somewhat dopey, yet loyal) best friend.
Mrs. Stewart, 30s-40s. The snootiest of the Main Line (Top Philadelphia social tier). Mother to Sandy, hates Liz Livingstone because she ‘married into The Main Line’.
Jack, Harry, Mary, 20’s to 40s. Reporters (sing 2 featured trios) – must move well
Auditions: Monday, September 26, 6:00pm-10:30pm BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
